Captivating, Unique, Niche

Athalia is one of those scents that is VERY intriguing. It opens with a surge of fresh citrus that then melts into a slightly powdery and earthy iris and what I think is the vetiver as well. The florals do not stand out to me, but help the scent to lean feminine. I personally don’t get a ton of incense in the opening, until a few hours later where it smacks me in the face! I was wondering where the incense was at first until it REALLY showed up. The vanilla, cashmeran, and amber just serve to soften the scent a bit in my opinion. I don’t detect them as individual notes really. All in all, I would say that this is not for your average woman. It’s this dance between dark and light, professional and kinky, and you would have to be pretty confident to pull this scent off. The longevity is AMAZING and the projection seems to be pretty good as well. For me, this is a like, not a love, yet I still keep reaching for it for some reason….

Why give such a Beautiful scent such an evil name?!

Most beautiful, but refuse to buy it. The most evil woman ever and the name of a demon. Good going PDM!

Different

Athalia is definitely a witchy, incense type of fragrance and has great projection and longevity.

Strong

This scent is really strong. It smelled really powdery on me. The dry down is nice and I really like it, however the initialy strong powdery scent is just too much for me.

Smells old lady-ish until it doesn’t

I do like the scent; starts off powdery and dry down smells quite girly and sweet. I must admit, I was thrown off by the look of the bottle, thinking it’s going to be something sexy or alluring - that would be Delina and Safanad - so I wasn’t expecting it to be this... sophisticated? Not bad, but not what I expected either. But I will still wear this out in a more cozy/formal settings like church, weddings, family dinners, or just a nice autumn / winter night out. But for work, clubbing, date night or girls’ night out? I’ll go for something else.

I love this fragrance!

I think this smells so good! It's my favorite of the Parfum de Marly scents that I have tried so far. Athalia smells so good. Creamy, soft and I like everything about it. Smells a little like sweet tarts but in a mature, refined way. Dries down to a soft, pleasant floral.
