Kême, the ancient Egyptian word for Egypt itself, is a name shrouded in mystery and power. So knowledgable and renowned was their mastery of art, science and sorcery that Al Kemi (or the later simplified version, alchemy) literally means "Egyptian arts, " in tribute to their mystical powers. Kemi the fragrance is, too, a tribute to that ancient wonder, a wondrous blend of smoky, animalic and gourmand notes that weave a primal and magical tapestry.

Kemi opens with a robust, dark, and woodsy combination of real oud and rich cedarwood, leading into a heart of gurjan balsam delicately sweetened with caramel and given sensual depth with animalic castoreum and civet. The robust, lightly creamy base of vanilla and sandalwood multiplies the swirling depth, while accentuating the diversity of the composition. Mysterious yet dignified, attention-getting and subtly wondrous all at once, Kemi is a miraculous fragrance of ancient pedigree.

Only for the brave.

Cambodian Oud, caramel and Castoreum.

Yes, there is more to it, but those notes predominate.

On initial spay it could be a bit challenging, if you are not used to Oud and it’s friends, but give it 20-30 minutes and it becomes a glorious scent.

The dry down, after a close to 12 hours longevity and more than decent projection, is the hidden treasure of this fragrance.

Highly recommend.

Amazing

Very warm oud, lightly animalic, not barnyard or blue cheese, vanilla. Beautiful.

This was the first fragrance I had to wash off.

Firstly I love challenging fragrances. I'm not afraid of castoreum or civet. This to me has a sickly factor to it that I can only describe as cough syrup. It's got a medicinal quality, I can't stand it. I think it's very unique and I gave it some points for longevity and silage, it's a performance beast.. but when I say "beast" I mean it..

It's a masterpiece, but it’s not for me.

I recognize its quality, the creation of its perfumer Chris Maurice, it's a masterpiece... But it's not for me: The first two hours it smells bad to me, (maybe because of Civet or Castoreo) and then it smells like caramel... (I’m a beginner in the Ouds and I have a lot to learn).
