Athalia is one of those scents that is VERY intriguing. It opens with a surge of fresh citrus that then melts into a slightly powdery and earthy iris and what I think is the vetiver as well. The florals do not stand out to me, but help the scent to lean feminine. I personally don’t get a ton of incense in the opening, until a few hours later where it smacks me in the face! I was wondering where the incense was at first until it REALLY showed up. The vanilla, cashmeran, and amber just serve to soften the scent a bit in my opinion. I don’t detect them as individual notes really. All in all, I would say that this is not for your average woman. It’s this dance between dark and light, professional and kinky, and you would have to be pretty confident to pull this scent off. The longevity is AMAZING and the projection seems to be pretty good as well. For me, this is a like, not a love, yet I still keep reaching for it for some reason….
