    Complex and Mercurial

    There's a lot going on with this fragrance. The initial spray is a little sharp and screechy, but it quickly develops into something lovely and complex, with herbal botanicals and citrus dancing around a rose-floral heart and an earthy-woody base. The overall impression is indeed very "blue." It's not something I ever would have chosen for myself if not for the reviews, but I'm glad I tried it. It's nuanced and sophisticated and fascinating. This is one of those fragrances that really develops over time, in both good and bad ways. At times I would catch the scent and just be in heaven, but then other times the balance would go off and the patchouli would turn the rose and the oud a bit rotten. I've tried other scents with rose and oud, as well as those with rose and patchouli, but this is the first I've tried with all 3, and I do feel like the two base notes were fighting at times. For me, this was an ambitious and impressive fragrance that just didn't quite hit the mark. The performance was excellent though, of course (it always is with BtV.)

    Grown n Sexy!

    Wasn't too sure about this when I bought it given all the hype. Now I'm kicking myself- what took so long??? Constant non-overpowering pleasant scent. Very long lasting. Will definitely turn heads when you walk into a room. Compliment magnet! If you can avoid getting it on your clothes, please avoid. I definitely would say worth the price.

    Blue Sapphire is a great scent that last for many hours. The saying "You get what you pay for" applies here. This is one of the best around.
