but I don't. There isn't as much complexity to it as is described. There are a group of notes that instantly turn to overwhelming powder on my skin and I think it's the patchouli in this. After the patchouli hits, I can't pick up anything else. It's probably just me and my chemistry, but I'm glad I just purchased a sample.

This is exactly what Scent Split does well. It allows you to be brave. And when I ordered Type Writer, I had no idea exactly how brave I was being. The bottle is beautiful. The text about the scent is alluring. The notes sound great. I was expecting a typewriter more in the metaphorical sense. But what sprayed out of the 2 ml vial was far more literal than I could have ever imagined. My exact hand-written notes from when I first tried it were synthetic, off putting, rubber tire, erasers, graphite, chemically, and musty supply room. When people talk about a fragrance being “wearable” they are not talking about this one. But the story ends well. I ordered four radically different 2 ml vials. Two were nice, Type Writer was, well, let’s just say, unexpected, and the other one was so impressive, I immediately ordered two other fragrances from that house, and eventually bought a full bottle. The moral of the story is to be brave. But maybe not with Type Writer. I took the hit for you on this one. You’re welcome.
