Dark Matter

i was really disappointed in this fragrance, but i gave it an extra star for the hyper-realistic ink element (something i was very interested in). it's just way, way too smoky. i didn't expect that it would be, based off of the notes alone. i don't smell much aside from ink and smoke. smoke is quite bitter, so i don't like the smell of it.

ink appealed to me because it has this sweetness to it, and i was curious to see it in a perfume; however, the ink smell dissipates almost entirely once it dries down, for me. it smells like the air out of a very old and dusty electronic air vent.

the fragrance does have an underlying sweetness, but it's just overpowered by the dry smoke smell. i'm not sure how i'd feel if i smelled this on another person. i don't think my first thoughts would be that they smell good, but maybe that they're an engineer or something.

i'd say it's wearable, but not for me. i wish the ink note were more prominent and that the fragrance leaned a little sweeter, more mellow.

This is the most entrancing, hypnotic, completely original scent I’ve smelled in 50+ samples and scents I own. The reviewer who said it was like a Bic pen exploded on you in a good way was right. From a distance, you also have the projected impression of that dark, juicy blackberry, but as you put your nose closer to the scent, you get the unmistakable ink. Medium projection. Appropriate for office and hot weather. I’m female, and this is truly unisex and beyond any traditional concepts of what gender might even mean in a fragrance. I wish it lasted a tiny bit longer on me. I got about 6 hours, and 8 at the office with no reapplication is my ideal. No matter, I’m still desperate for the full bottle.
