Grimoire

The opening is strange- love it. Dry down softens into such a haunting & unique experience, with a long lasting- rich scent.

Their decants are always true to size, often generous. It was so cool to score a 9oz to hold me over. I flew thru both my Grimoire samples, which prob means I should just spring for the full bottle. Scent Split makes nice labels too! They pack the product securely, always shipping quickly. Highly recommended!

This is a great scent themed around classic fougère and ladna. Lots of greenery, a hint of church, and bitterness. I really like the opening with hints of basil and resins; it's the best part. The drydown, however, becomes simpler and less complex than expected.

This fragrance is spicy, sweet, and airy. There’s something about it I don’t like, but I’m having a hard time putting my finger on what. Overall I think it’s an interesting composition, and it does fit with the idea of a grimoire. But I won’t be wearing it and will give it to a fragrance-loving friend to try. It’s definitely unisex. There’s nothing conventionally “gendered” about it. Edited to add: for something I didn’t really like, man, this stuff has staying power. It’s been on me 10 hours now with the middle and base notes virtually unchanged. I imagine I’ll have to shower it off. Can’t fault the performance!

Lovely fragrance. On me, the cedar notes come through the strongest.

This is an interesting fragrance. To me it isn’t something I find overly wearable, and for this reason only, I give it 4 stars. From an artistic stand point it is a pretty interesting fragrance. It smells like an old dusty book of great importance….
