    The Ruthless Countess Dorothea is a most ferocious matriarch, known for her sharp mind, even sharper wit and a secret fondness for the company of young men and scones! She knows how to host and receive, with impeccable manners, without question. And her scent is similarly refined, reassuring – but you can’t help but notice the surreptitious flame. She opens with a hit of uplifting citrus bergamot that recalls the finest Earl Grey tea. Drink deeper, and you notice the honeyed spice in the air, with red ginger and cinnamon. It's deliciously wearable, with an inviting, creamy vanilla like buttery scones at tea-time. But don't get too comfortable - the furtive glances belie the cozy gourmands - for it seems there's some sherry in the tea and always, the potential of new romance.

    Sophisticated & sensual tea/vanilla/spice notes

    I’ve never explored this perfume house before, but had read that Penhaligon’s was super high quality with a great history. I actually added this perfume as an afterthought, and boy was I wrong! There is no way to ignore this beautifully layered perfume. Sophisticated, sensual, and curious. The layers of black tea, ginger, warm vanilla, cinnamon and creamy beeswax are gorgeous. The Ruthless Countess Dorothea may like her baked goods (according to the perfume’s description), but she is full of wit and deep desires. This is a powerhouse scent that exudes confidence and sexiness. I had 3-4 hours of nuanced scent, that mellowed down nicely for another couple of hours. Highly recommend…. I bought a bottle!
