    A*Men Pure Tonka by Mugler is an Amber Fougere fragrance for men.

     

    Like most of Mugler A*Men's collection, A*Men Pure Tonka is a perfume made by senior perfumer Jacques Huclier. The perfume blooms with a spiky mint and lavender quality that immediately solves into the heat of the base. It serves the top elements to form the identity of what actually happens in the heart and because of that, the perfume has exceptional performance on the skin. Mint and lavender give their jagged greenness to the giant accord of tobacco and cacao in the base. Licorice, plus a touch of vanilla and patchouli render this spicy heat.

    Unique and invigorating

    Pure Tonka is discontinued and very difficult to find without paying an outrageous price so I wanted to try it first. It's a really lovely scent. Yes, it's reminiscent of fresh brewed coffee on first spray but it dries down into a sweet caramel. It retains is smoothness throughout without ever becoming bitter or acidic. It's a shame Mugler discontinued this fragrance.

    Very good for the price

    This is a Deep spicy smell with sweet undertones (and I hate sweet smelling men's colognes.) But this one works and smells great. A compliment getter for sure. For the price it gets 5 stars, if it was more expensive it would go down to 4 starts.

    Smaller than expected

    Though I am grateful for this option, the only advantage to this is that Sephora does not have these scents available who provide these same sample size in for free in spray bottles.

    Bright and Warm

    A fine fragrance! It leans a little too sweet and gourmand for me but this would make a fantastic day scent during the Fall and Winter for those that like A bit of sweetness. The dry down mellows things a lot but still remains nice and bright.

    Fans of Shalimar

    This is nicer than I thought it would be. Reminds me of the second layer of Shalimar - right after the initial heat. I like that this is longer lasting than some other scents with similar notes.
