“Golden Chypre conjures up images of late summer sunlight upon leaves, as their colours begin to change. Green notes that liquefy between soft violet leaves, orange blossom and magnolia flowers, infused to create a creamy nuance, with hues of sacred woods like cypress and sandal Mysore. Notes of rose, geranium and heliotrope provide a beautiful balance to the vibrancy of the opening, whilst patchouli lends a warm, earthy quality. Dry, smoky vetiver leads seamlessly into a sensual base of woods, amber and musk. A sensual aroma that grows in intensity, the more the pyramid notes evolve with the skin's heat. Concluding in a multi-faceted fragrant contrast that ends in a kaleidoscopic, oriental tale. Ytzma, the bright and contemporary interpretation of a classic Chypre fragrance created to form a bridge between the perfect balance of rose - patchouli and the purest Oud note. It is an imaginary black flower of glittery saffron, soft incense notes and heavy Moroccan rose petals that become a precious liquid laced with tobacco, grey amber, agarwood and dried fruits. But it is when it moves into its drydown that Ytzma unveils its opulent, oriental undercurrent – addictive smooth , with animalesque notes. It’s been a long time since a fragrance has exuded such vintage-style lushness. An evocative scent reminiscent of a sunny day; sensual and sophisticated; the expression of timeless elegance” — press release of the brand. Ytzma was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Antonio Visconti.

Spicy, and commands attention

Quality stuff from Royal Crown, as usual. This is an interesting composition. The sharp, peppery character suggests it might be better suited for fall or winter, and, in my opinion, it leans ever-so-slightly masculine (initially), despite the creators' intention. The dry-down is definitely feminine, but I suspect most women will find the oud a little challenging. I like the peppery-spiciness but not enough to wear it, not when there are so many excellent fragrances from this house. I give it four stars for the quality of the ingredients alone. Performance is outstanding, as you would expect from Royal Crown, and from a fragrance with so many naturals and in such high concentrations.
Royal Crown is a player.
