    Named after a musical instrument often used in initiation ceremonies in Western Africa, Wazamba symbolizes an inner journey characteristic of many great civilizations. This is an homage to the tradition of burning incense to purify oneself and one's surroundings. The fragrance combines the aromas of Somalian incense, Kenyan myrrh, Ethiopian opoponax, Indian sandalwood and Moroccan cypress into a composition of astounding depth. The bitter freshness of the coniferous note lifts the luxurious mix of resins, bringing a certain airiness and translucency into the dark and soulful blend.     What's Up Wazamba?

    If I'm honest the name of this perfume was enough to get me to at least try it. Wazamba. True to the fragrance notes in the description the incense brought me back to the high holy days of God Friday at the catholic church. Oh, so serious!. But yes, the perfume is oh so serious - and lovely. I love it. I have purchased so many different samples of perfumes form Scent Split. 5ml works for me. It's enough for me to enjoy the fragrance and get a sense of whether something is truly Full Body (FB) worthy. Wazamba is stronger than Avignon by Comme des Garcon. Wazamba really has that solemn church incense sense and vibe whereas Avignon is a flightier and more fresh and airy interpretation of the incense. Avignon is actually very nice and might be great for the warmer months, while Wazamba performs well in the cool weather. I'm delighted with Wazamba. There is a good chance I will re-purchase.
