Anubis  by Papillon Artisan Perfumes is a Amber fragrance for Women & Men

With a name inspired by the Egyptian God of the afterlife, Anubis embodies the sacred mysteries of Ancient Egypt. Heady blooms of jasmine, amid rich suede, smoulder over an incense laden base of frankincense, sandalwood, and labdanum.

Vivid slashes of immortelle, pink lotus and saffron create a perfume shrouded in darkness and veiled in mystery.

Oddly pleasant

This one is middle of the road for me. It goes on smokey and almost plasticky, but dries down into somewhat of a spicy floral scent. I will say the florals underperform compared to the other notes. Kind of gives indiana jones vibes.

Much different than old sample

My sample from a few years back was just so much better. The florals (jasmine, lotus) seemed to be just way more amped up than the bottle I bought here. Also it was just a flat out plasticky-imoretelle bomb! Sadly I sold my full bottle :(. I guess that any given formula can’t ever be 100% consistent, especially with a lot of naturals used. Oh well…..

Anubis

What an awesome rough, Smokey, somewhat animatic leather. I love it. The opening and mid is my favorite. It’s smooths out a bit as it drys down which is also nice, but that opening…man it’s awesome.

Of the different smells, this one is the best.
