Ambilux by Marlou is a Aromatic fragrance for Women & Men

A subtly metallic, peppered beginning gives way to a more resinous heart and powder accents. Elegant, quaint, unnerving, the perfume settles down and sinks into the skin, becomes one with and gives voice to the flesh, warms the pores, exudes once more. A waxen, oily appearance emerges, softly saline. Then, sweeping in from scorching sands, drops of sun spring forth to wither the everlasting desires, those which cling to the secretions of the flesh in exultation, in the throes of passion aroused by this fleeting and mortal existence.

This 2017 release from Marlou is a continuation of the visionary brand’s exploration of polarizing animalics. One of the most common responses to this body of work is, “At first I hated it, but I kept going back and now I’m obsessed.” Perhaps a part of this experience is that Marlou questions the notion that fragrance should mask things like the smell of dirty skin. We’ve come a long way from the age of the unwashed Victorians. Trust, dear reader, if you can open your heart to your inner animal, and to the use of exquisite materials like costus (a flower with a dirty and sensual root note remnicent of unwashed hair) Ambilux is waiting to take you for a ride.

Closest thing to original Kiehls musk oil

I’m so glad I took a chance on Marlou’s fragrances. The reviews on social media made them sound interesting but not necessarily wearable. I found them all to be very easy to wear. Kiehls musk oil has been a staple of mine for years and recently it has been really hard to get and has now been discontinued. At the time of this review they are still selling the EDT but it is not the same.
I have spent a couple years trying to find something similar and so far, imo and on my skin/chemistry Ambilux is the closest. I guess raunchy just smells clean on me. Full bottle worthy
