Slumberhouse simply does not produce ordinary, standard scents- something absolutely necessary to keep in mind when describing Grev. Is it a fougere? Sure, the definition might roughly fit, but leave your expectations of unchallenging freshness aside. What it really is, is a transparent metallic/herbal accord of star anise, crisp apple peel, spearmint leaf, ocean pine and bergamot twisted into hollowed tunnels padded in turquoise hues, dusted in sweet mossy mineral powder and blanketed with copaiba resin and sandalwood oil. Ordinary left the building a long time ago.

Purchased this one because there has been so much hype related to the fray on YouTube and on the fragrance sites. My expectations were VERY high as a result. While I get the various elements in the scent at various times during a day's wear, they are all nearly submerged under a heavy clove element. I think this is a very good fragrance, but on my skin, the clove is not kept in check enough for the composition to work harmoniously and this fact keeps Greg from being great. I have sampled a friend's bottle (purchased directly from Slumberhouse since I received my decant & it is identical to what I got from ScentSplit [of course].) 4 stars. Clove lovers: Grev will be a 10/10 for you.
