Pivoine’ is a 2017 edition to the Heritage collection. Peonies took their name after Paeon, the physician of Greek gods who angered Asclepius, the god of medicine, due to his natural healing abilities. Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the beautiful flower of peony (pivoine).
