In Rouge Comme Des Garcons approaches a new horizon in perfumery and implements an ingredient that was not used before: beetroot. A bloody and clearly vibrant sugar-infused sort of unusual earthiness initiates the scent. That is the smell of the beet merged with pink peppercorns, mint, and ginger which give the root a pleasantly spicy and crispness that is enhanced in the heart with the smell of incense emerging from labdanum and patchouli.
