    Are you the kind of person who looks at the dessert list before choosing the appetizers? Well, then welcome to the most sumptuous dessert trolley you’ve ever set eyes on – Dates Delight. Imagine a gold dish piled high with sticky Riyà dates as plump as a baby’s fist and dripping with raw honey and caramel. Now picture them dunked into a bath of the silkiest crème brulee, thick with vanilla bean underneath and crackling with melted brown sugar on top. Visualize all this dusted with a thick layer of spicy cinnamon. Are you salivating yet? 


    Thankfully, although this scent is delicious it stops short of total gluttony because of the inedible elements at play. So while the honey and dates may make your mouth water, the coumarin, with its nuances of warm, pungent hay, bitter almonds, and tobacco makes you hesitate to put it in your mouth. Benzoin and labdanum add smoke, leather, and a hint of tar that reins it in even further. Even the soapy little peony note up top whispers, don’t eat me. It’s this level of abstraction that balances the scent, and renders it sophisticated. Fans of Oajan by Parfums de Marly and Ambre Narguile by Hermes will feel right at home here.

    I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to try this. I love it. It’s a warm and spicy and treads a fine line between sophisticated and old fashioned based on what you perceive to be passé—I’m a millennial for scale. The loudest and longest lasting note is honey for me. It’s sweet insofar as cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc smell sweet; this is not your TikTok viral, Sabrina carpenter, bath and body works kind of gourmand (not that there’s anything wrong with those), so if you’re looking at the description and expecting a gourmand something simple and sweet expecting something different. This is a classic kind of gourmand before they started putting vanilla in everything. If you’re going to buy a 1ml bottle of any of the perfumes here btw just as a side note small disclaimer then dab some onto a cotton ball to smell what it actually smells like. I often read reviews of people saying that it smells strongly of alcohol and I wonder if they are buying the dapper bottle (1 ml) samples and smelling them straight out the bottle—they all smell strongly of alcohol that way; alcohol is the first ingredient and up to 80% of any atomized perfume.

    Longevity Delight

    Dates Delight n is one of my favorites. It carries me thru the day. It has longevity and and stay power changes during the cool hours of the morning and the light crisp hours of the day I leave a subtle scent as I go on my way. It's yummy and pleasant!!
