Richwood by Xerjoff is a Woody Chypre fragrance for Women & Men.

Richwood is a part of Xerjoff's prestigious XJ 17/17 range, a collection that embodies the mastery of Grasse's artisan perfumers and takes the wearer on a captivating olfactory journey through the world’s most precious essences. This fragrance is an exquisite integration of nature's visual and aromatic beauty, inspired by the quote, “The earth laughs in flowers.” Richwood opens with a burst of fresh tangerine, grapefruit, and bergamot, which perfectly complement the richness of sandalwood from Mysore, one of the rarest and most cherished ingredients in perfumery. The heart of the fragrance reveals the delicate balance of damask rose and black currant, adding depth and elegance. The base notes of patchouli, vanilla, labdanum, and musk lend the fragrance an earthy warmth and complexity, unfolding on the skin like a fine vintage wine, revealing new layers with every wear.

Perfect for those who appreciate a fragrance that evolves over time, Richwood is ideal for evening wear or special occasions, perfect for individuals seeking a unique, sophisticated scent that embodies both luxury and earthiness.

Meh

Very rich, subtle sweet and boozy. I wasn’t impressed, several fragrances have a similar profile.

Xerjoff Richwood haunts me

If you've not yet experienced Xerjoff Richwood, do yourself a favor and spend the few extra dollars required to try a sample. It's expensive for a reason. But be warned: if you are as devastated by this fragrance as I am, you may want to stay away, especially if you care about your bank account.

There are certainly more sophisticated fragrances out there---sophisticated, meaning complicated---but few are as well blended, or as high performance as this. Sandalwood is becoming exceedingly expensive and rare, and it's not a note that ought to be relegated to the background. In Richwood, it is the star, and it is stellar indeed. The citrus accord, rose, and patchouli are all players, but never steal the show. And you will steal the show when you wear it, no doubt. I get compliments galore! So classy.

Many thanks to Scent Split for the opportunity to own a rather large sample (on sale). Someday, I will possess a full bottle.
