Mansa Musa, the ruler of the Mali Empire in the 13th century, is considered the richest individual in history. He was also known for his generosity, sharing a significant portion of his wealth with his people. "Mansa" means "king" or "ruler" in Maninka. The golden staff symbolizes wealth and generosity.
