The fragrance opens with refreshing notes of sage, lemon, and bergamot, conjuring the freshness of the countryside. This sophisticated blend is enriched by the elegance of May rose, violet, and Grasse jasmine, creating a floral heart that drifts in like the aroma from a grand English rose garden. The base is deeply rooted in leather, ambergris, and ambrette, mingling with warm woods, balsams, and spices, reminiscent of the atmosphere in an opulent library filled with polished woods and leather-bound books.

    Great Britain, let me down greatly.

    I had high hopes for this fragrance, but I did not enjoy it. I'm sure someone would appreciate it but it's not me. I may purchase another sample in the future whenever I take a trip to the UK and probably wear it once on a night out in London.

    Best Leather-based Fragrance?

    I have never been fond of leather-based fragrances, yet this one captured me. The opening is a pronounced leather, yet what I absolutely enjoyed was how the leather top note is muted down nicely by an elegant almost powdery-floral undertone adding a beautiful richness to this fragrance. I own Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather and this fragrance in my opinion completely outclasses it. Although pricey, this is another masterpiece from this exceptional house.
