    Cypres Pantelleria by Giorgio Armani is a Chypre fragrance for women and men.

     

    Nothing can cut through the intense summer heat than the cooling shadow of cypress trees on a Mediterranean seascape. Cypres Pantelleria opens with a perfect accord of citruses with the prominence of citron, and from there merges into clary sage, cypress, oakmoss, and seawater, and strengthens by a bountiful dose of patchouli, vetiver, and amberwood. It gives the instant freshness and richness of amber at the same time.

    Not for me

    It's not a bad fragrance. In fact, I got at least one complement which is why I can't give it one star. I just don't like it for me. The nicest thing I can say about it is that it seems gentlemanly. The aquatic note is something I struggle with liking. Then there's the vanilla that I don't know what to do with: love, hate, meh? And the citrus comes off like pineapple. It gives me Givenchy pour homme red cap vibes. I'm sure someone likes this, it's just not me.

    Starts bright, goes soft

    My initial sense was very satisfied with a bright and herbaceous presence on application; within 20 minutes it had already softended to make a baby powder scent the more dominant note transforming a bold statement to something like Love's Baby Soft. The drydown may reveal more, but the punctuation I was hoping for is not present.
