A mesmerizing incense blend that comes dangerously close to putting us into an actual trance. It conjures up a grand, stone-walled cathedral -- not dark, dank or gloomy, but a place of light, majesty and infinite calm. We can envision the dreamy tendrils of smoke rising through sunlight streaming in the stained glass windows and feel the reassuring warmth of wood and sun-warmed stone. Airy incense and resinous cistus intermingle with the deep, sweet earthiness of patchouli and vetiver, creating a fragrance that is both spiritual and grounded. Fans of Comme des Garcon's Incense series (particularly Kyoto and Avignon) will want to try this, as well anyone who has been longing for an incense scent without gothic overtones. Warm and reassuring.

Cardinal Notes

incense, cistus, grey amber, patchouli, vetiver

Love it!

Really enjoy this! Doesn't have a lot in the way of longevity, that would be my main complaint, but it's a lovely scent and I may get a full bottle once I use this decant. A "church incense" smell like CdG Avignon, but lighter, brighter, and without the damp stone note.

Clean, gorgeous incense

This is a very clean linen, airy take on frankincense. It wears beautifully while still being unique which is a hard task. Many fragrances are either too artistic and unwearable, or wearable but generic.

One of the most pleasant, wearable and authentic incense fragrances out there. Excellent longevity.

Heeley’s Cardinal is Divine.

I absolutely love Cardinal by Heeley. Its scent is built around the traditional incense of a Roman Catholic church. A little goes a long way.

Sexy Priest

Absolutely love Cardinal. It reminds me of the hot priest that I dated in elementary school.

High church incense.

Brings back memories of the incense censors they swung at Catholic church on high holydays. Medium lasting power on me. Close to Comme des Garçons Series 3 Incense: Avignon, but Avignon seems to have more of a "men's cologne" drydown.
